research

The Chair conducts a series of research projects on Value-Based Health Care. Our research involves developing and implementing tools to assess outcomes from the patient perspective. The Chair’s research team seeks to better understand the interplay of monetary & non-monetary incentives on high-value care, with a focus on motivation mechanisms.

We analyze what quality indicators matter most to patients when evaluating a medical team. We measure the impact of patient-surgeon relationships on sick leave duration, functional recovery and malpractice rates, in order to improve the value of surgical care.
